Preparing For Your Hair Extension Appointment

So you booked your hair extension appointment and the big day has finally arrived. In order to get the best results from your hair extension application, there are a few guidelines you should follow prior to your appointment.

1) Arrive to your appointment with clean and completely dry hair. This is important to remove any product, oil or debris that can cause the extensions not to bond to your properly.

At Kobo Beauty we charge for a blow dry, if you come with wet hair or hair that needs to be washed.

2) It is recommended you wash your hair on the day of your appointment. Even if you do not use products, oil & debris build up in your hair so a fresh wash on the day of application is best.

3) Do not apply products to your hair on the day of your appointment. Products can interfere with the bond of the extension and should be washed off prior to your hair extension application.

4) Arrive with your hair styled in the same manner you ordered your extensions. If you ordered a curl pattern, come with your natural curl pattern.

This is especially important for those who have ordered a curl pattern.

5) It is not recommend that hair extensions be applied to hair that has undergone perming or keratin smoothing treatments. These treatments, along with other straightening or smoothing treatments can cause breakage to occur when hair extensions are applied. Make sure to inform your stylist of any perming or straightening treatments your hair has undergone.

It is advised waiting 6-8 weeks to apply extensions after these treatments. The length of time recommended depends on how fast your hair grows and on the method of hair extension being installed.
