What is Balayage?

Balayage is a french word that means "to sweep or paint". In the hair world this term is used to describe a hair colouring technique in which the hair is hand-painted.

✨Balayage hair can be thought of as a technique in which many variations can be used to deliver a variety of styles.

✨True balayage is an open air technique, where lightener is applied directly to the hair without foils. This service is only suitable for a certain colour of hair, so typically in the salon when you book a balayage service you will actually get some version of a "foilyage" service. The term balayage is used when booking a service to describe a type of low-maintenance hair colour that creates a lived-in natural look.

✨Balayage techniques allow for a completely customized look that can be altered to suit every individuals unique style and hair dreams.

✨The technique creates a seamless, blended colour that grows out naturally with no harsh lines. Placement can be completely customized based on individual hair type and goals.

✨Balayage hair is an attractive option for someone looking for a low-maintenance look. This service allows up to 12+ weeks between salon visits.
